Pilot production of smart batteries will start in Riihimäki at the turn of the year, following a cooperation agreement between Tespack and the Ukrainian company Unwave. The aim is to supply advanced battery systems to Ukraine and to expand production to other defence technology solutions as well. A full-scale battery production line and technology equipment are intended to be operational by the end of next year. The companies plan to recruit dozens of employees, and defence sector jobs in Riihimäki are expected to grow strongly. Through the DEFINE network, the city is strengthening its position as a national hub for defence and security technology.
