According to Minister of Defence Antti Häkkänen (National Coalition Party), Finland’s defence industry has good growth prospects, and strengthening it could bring significant economic growth and new jobs to different parts of the country. The minister has been touring companies to explain how they can tap into growing markets in Finland, NATO and Ukraine alike.

In Riihimäki, Häkkänen familiarised himself with the activities of the defence innovation network Define and emphasised the importance of cooperation platforms like it for the Finnish Defence Forces. Cooperation between companies, research institutes and educational institutions is seen as key to developing new solutions, and with growing appropriations, closer cooperation is, according to Häkkänen, more important than ever.
