The DEFINE team organised a defence technology intensive day at the DEFINE Innovation Hub premises in Riihimäki on 27 August 2025. The day’s programme was built around the opening event of the DEFINE Accelerator’s Batch 3 companies, during which members of the Senior Staff Officer Course of the National Defence University and 12 accelerator companies developing defence technology were brought under the same roof to get to know the activities of the DEFINE ecosystem. At the DEFINE Innovation Hub, the day delved into the course members’ foresight work touching on the development of defence technology, the pitches of the DEFINE accelerator companies, and small-group mentoring between the course members and the companies.

The day’s programme concluded with a visit, together with a 50-person US delegation, to SAKO’s premises, where a cooperation agreement was signed between Riihimäki and the city of Mooresville, North Carolina – strengthening the international cooperation carried out through the DEFINE ecosystem in the field of defence and dual-use technology innovation.
